The no-training-wheels thing isn’t going so well, so Daddy got Jack a scooter to help with balance. I just think Action!Jack is too cute.

Caroline had her two month check-up yesterday. She weighed 11 lbs 4 oz (up from 7 lbs 8 oz at birth) and was 22 7/8 inches long (up from 19 1/4 at birth). That puts her in the 70th percentile for both height and weight. She was in the 50th at her 2 week check-up. I knew she was growing well, but holy crap! No wonder my back hurts from carrying her around… Guess that Mommy’s milk is doing some good!

Dear Caroline,

You’re two months old today. It’s amazing how much you’ve changed in such a short time. I’m not sure how much weight you’ve gained, but you seem to be growing in leaps and bounds. You seem so big now! You’ve gone from looking a little like a frog to looking like a real baby. You’ve been beautiful since the moment you were born, but as impossible as it seems, you just get cuter every day. I’m still amazed at how much you look like your brother. I always expected you’d have similarities, but the two of you could be twins born 5 years apart.

Caroline rolled from her tummy to her back today. Twice, so it’s not a fluke. She’s only 7 weeks old - she’s not supposed to be able to do that yet!

And since we’re talking milestones… The past 2 nights she’s gone an 8 hour stretch between feedings. Last night was from 10:00pm to 6:30am. I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am by that development.

Dear Jack,

One of my favorite bloggers writes a monthly letter to her daughter. I thought it was a great idea, especially since Caroline is brand new, so I’m blatantly stealing borrowing it. I know I’m starting this five years late for you, but there’s not much I can do about it now. Just add it to what I’m sure will be a very long list of Mommy issues you’ll be discussing with your therapist when you grow up.

It’s been a big month for you. You’re five years old! How did that happen? It seems like just yesterday you were an itty bitty baby. To celebrate the momentous occasion, we had a Harry Potter birthday party at the neighborhood pool.

After a bit of excitement earlier in the week, Caroline Mary arrived last Friday, June 9, 2006 at 3:57 p.m. She weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 19 1/4 inches long.

I was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday the 6th with preeclampsia, but my doctor wanted to try to hold off until I reached the 37 week mark for the baby to come. I got to spend 3 days in the hospital, and we induced on Friday morning. Even though she was 3 weeks early, she was fully cooked and very healthy. We’ve been home since Sunday, and things are going well. Jack is absolutely in love with the baby. He thought it was pretty cool getting a baby sister for a birthday present (he turned 5 on Thursday the 8th).

I know people want pictures, so just click on “more” below and you can see a few from the past week.

Jack’s Easter pictures came back, so I thought I’d share. He’s looking all GQ and waaaay too grown up.

We had our 20 week ultrasound today, and found out that Jack is going to have a baby sister. Yay for a Grzesiek girl! We got some great pictures, which you can see under the cut below.

We took our annual vacation to the Outer Banks in May, and I was surprised when my sisters and nephew joined the regular crew. Jack was thrilled to have his best friend/cousin Quint join him at the beach.
